Poison type has two weaknesses (Ground and Psychic) and only one type it's powerful against (Grass). Meanwhile, it has four resistances and four types that resist it, and one type that is immune to it.
By comparison, Dark type has two weaknesses, two types it's powerful against, two types it resists, and three types that resist it, and one type it's immune to.
If Poison isn't unbalanced, why would an additional weakness for Dark types unbalance it? Especially since they could easily modify the type chart a bit to maintain the balance.
