Have nintendo really lost the casuals?

Buying Wii fit plus didn't involve buying new hardware to play. 

Also, it may have been completely different customers who purchased it.

If a casual wants a casual experience to enjoy the Wii series of games, why would they spend 300 $ on a Wii u,  when they could purchasea cheap Wii?

time will tell I guess but past experience has proven sequels can be a good way to attract audiences to a new console . wii fit u may not be that product, but there's no reason to be so blatantly negative that it wont at least tempt some people to pick up a wii u.
