I don't understand how anyone could ever trust MS's Next after this gen :/

No the Japanese despise the Xbox because it's American, and American products are not allowed to succeed on Nintendo and Sony's home turf. They still have a chip on their shoulders for bombing the sh.. out of them. Europe hates us too, that's why the PS3 and Wii do better there.

I can't find it, but there was a poll in like Famitsu or something about it and they prefered PS3 design much more. 

 

While I don't completely dispute their might be some domestic byass towards PS3 in japan, the same can be said about 360 and it's design.  Being an american based product doesn't seem to be hurting Apple products in Japan tho. The truth of the matter is the Japanese frequently see american base products and subpar as far as design and tech goes....because they usually are. Even americans know when you buy an american based product, expect  some problems. Take cars, almost every foreign made brand far out performs them. I personally see what they mean. I tend to stay away from things made by american companies for the same reason(not all things, just some).
