The 360 was able to go toe-to-toe with the PS3 because Sony fucked up. It launched 1 year later at a much higher price point. Sony really did an amazing job at keeping the PS3 relevant despite all its flaws.

Sony may have introduced DVD and Blu-Ray formats, but those never took away from the games or compromised the power of the consoles. Back then, having a video game console that could play movies was revolutionary. These days, it is expected just like Netflix and Hulu apps are. But what Microsoft is doing is "raising the bar" with interactive TV. I don't know about you, but if I'm watching Netflix, I don't want to be Skying with my annoying Call of Duty-addicted cousin or reading a backstorty of the characters in The Avengers. It's overkill and unnecesary.

PS4 is using GDDR5 RAM. Notice the "G" it stands for graphical. This RAM will allow for high-res textures, more textrues in general and less loading times and a bunch of other stuff I'm not smart enough to explain. In comparison, the next Xbox is using DDR3 RAM. This is just ordinary RAM you can buy anywhere. Perfect for multi-media featrues, but considering this is a gamign console, it would have been preferable to go with something suited to handle graphics such as GDDR5. 

Watch when multiplatform games like Watch Dogs and World of Halo Destiny are released on both systems and the internet is flooded with hundreds of graphical comparison videos... you won't be able to tell one version of each game apart from the other save for some differences in lighting.
