Who is going to make games for this device? Also, who is going to make games for this device, if it continues to struggle in its second year? An installed base of 10m or less after two years on the market with little software sales isn't going to encourage publishers. At this point you have to hope for a third party bailout (meaning that they'll pour money into the platform this year in order to build an installed base they can profit from later on) and even that will only apply to the Japanese market. Western publishers won't care if the Vita dies an early death and gamers won't buy a system that sees barely any support. So that leaves PS4 remote play as its saving grace which basically means that you can stick the fork in it. Such a feature doesn't have widespread value. What will make life even harder for the Vita is that Sony won't put their weight behind the platform. Their top development teams will focus on the PS4. So my final question is my first question: Who is going to make games for this device?

i Dont think 3rd parties will completely bailout. I also dont expect a big incline in sales this year either. I expect it to be anywhere between 7-10m by the end of this year. I expect it's biggest incline to be either in it's 3rd or 4th year.
