While it's obvious fans want the realistic look for Zelda, Nintendo seems to prefer a more cartoony look judging from WindWaker, DS Zeldas, Skyward Sword and even OoT/MM (of course they were limited by tech). Only TP sported a realistic look. IMO Metroid is the only Nintendo franchise likely to get a full-out HD treatment. Everything else will be Nintendo's trademark cartoony look.
And it wouldn't be the first time they teased a realistic Zelda and then came out with a completely different style (GC).
