3rd gen-my family owned a NES and GameBoy before I was born, I played these systems in my days as a youngster. For NES we had Super Mario 1-3, both zeldas, 2 ninja turtle games, duck hunt and dr mario. For GB I played mario land, wario land, metroid 2, bugs bunny castle, gremlins 2, tetris and of course pokemon
4th gen-my grandma bought a Genesis in 1995 for all the grandkids to play when they visited, we had Sonic 2, altered beast, street fighter 2, tiny toons game, lion king and crystal pony tails(for my sisters)
5th gen-in the summer of 1999 my dad bought us an N64 with mario 64 and star wars pod racer and this system made me a gamer. I had smash bros, ocarina, star fox, milos astro bowling, dk64, pokemon snap/stadium/puzzle league and paper mario. For christmas 2000 I got a gameboy color with pokemon silver and it was the best present ever, I latrr got megaman Xtreme, tony hawks 2 and pokemon card game.
6th gen-this is my favorite gen, gamecube was the first system I ever bought with my own money in 2003 and is still my favorite console of all time (ps3 close 2nd) the games I had were sunshine, rogue squadron 2, luigis mansion, smash bros melee, mario kart, metroid prime 1&2, wind waker, twilight princess, custom robo, fzero, star fox adventures/assault, wario worls, tales of symphonia, REmake/zero/RE4, splinter cell, soul calibur and mgs twin snakes. I got a GBA SP for christmas that year and had pokemon ruby, mario advance 1-4, LttP, minish cap, mario & luigi, sword of mana, DKC, fire emblem, advanxe wars, golden sun and metroid fusion/zero mission. In 2005 I bought a PS2 slim just to get mgs 2&3, I also had god of war, gta 3, vice city, jak trilogy, final fantasy X.
Gen 7-I kinda got out of gaming around this time instead focusing on sports and girls but in 2009 I bought a Wii. Good system but didnt live up to the GC, my games were mario galaxy, skyward sword, MP trilogy, other M, MH tri. In 2010 I bought a DS lite for pokemon diamond and white. The following year I got a 3DS and my current games are 3d land, OoT, mario kart, kid icarus, RE revelations, fire emblem. Last year I upgraded to the XL and got a PS3 with GoW saga, uncharted trilogy, darksiders, vanquish, infamous collection, RE5, MGS4, LBP2, ratchet all 4 one.
Gen 8-ill probably get a WiiU when it hits $200 and a couple of the big hitters are out, then a PS4 in a few years as I still have a ton of DS/3DS and PS3 games to play.
