Worse case scenario would be GameCube type sales, but Nintendo proved back then that they could still sell a shit ton of software, and turn a decent profit with such a small user base. And as always they have a surefire money maker with their hand helds. GBA helped them out during GameCubes sticky times, and 3DS will do likewise.
