I guess what I don't understand is that you wrote earlier that you were getting sick of Nintendo. But Nintendo has, in the past few years, moved closer to your ideal than ever before. Games like Metroid: Other M and Skyward Sword are quite heavy on story and storytelling, much more so than previous games in their respective franchises.
I suppose we just have to agree to disagree about the primacy of story in video games, since it seems like neither of us will budge :)
