I honestly feel Sony had the idea to take the idea of "Future of gaming", consulted many devs, themselves, and decided on where gaming is heading. They compiled the ideas and said "We need hardware for this" and built out the console. This as opposed to "Hey let's make some crazy hardware and see what software we can make for it", now it's "What software can we make? We now need the hardware to make it". I like this focus a lot.
