Console specs =/= PC specs. 8GB GDDR5 on a console can push much more than 8GB GDDR5 on a PC.

Because of optimizing, its not because RAM becomes magical when its stuck inside a console casing. Besides, I can just up my RAM to 32 or even 64GB with my current setup should I wish to.

And your magical PC will run the game EXACTLY the same. Because the game is written with 32bit code and uses the 2G of your ram it is allowed to use. The rest of your 64G ram will be used to heat up your room (which is cool in winter when it is cold).

Really? I didn't know? I honestly thought that PC RAM was magical. There are games that utilize more than 2GB of RAM, I hope you know that. Bethesda aren't the only ones making games for the PC and not everyone is running 32bit systems any more (I run 64bit Win 7). A lot of DX 11 and 12 games have and will have support for a lot more than 2GB or RAM and unless you're still on Win XP, you'll be able to use more with your OS as well.

The point I'm trying to make is; why get excited over this at all? It says nothing about what kind of experiences the console will give us.
