Nintendo totally lost. I've tried my best to defend them for a long time, but wow. They introduced a new controller, and don't get me wrong, I own a Wii U, and it is an awesome console.
But God, Sony brought WAY more to the table. They have so many little things that make this thing look like it's going to be awesome. Also, for whatever reason, Nintendo didn't choose to go with next gen graphics. That's it, the Wii U is going to have a ton of first party support, and then probably not much else. They might be thrown a bone every here and there, and maybe even get some special 3rd party games that don't need a lot of graphics. Other than that, they will probably come in last place this gen.

I also, like you, defended Nintendo a lot last year.
The proof is in the pudding. Wii u sales are bad. The system is weak. Many people are not interesteed in it.
I am really worried about Nintendo because as it stands, wii u is looking to be the poorest console they ever released.
What third party developer will want to work with a weak, poorly selling console? The power gap between wii u and PS4 is immense, far more than I ever imagined.

they really don't give single console ownersa choice, its like taking a honda over a ferrari, sure you get mario and zelda which are great but you miss out on the nextgen experiance, sony excusives and amazing third party games.

Frankly, Zelda/3D Mario/Xenoblade 2/etc at 2GB of RAM is the preferable choice to me.
I don't see PS4 as any more next gen than Wii U. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a very promising system, but the choice isn't as one-way as you describe.

I don't want to get into this next-gen argument again. I had enough of it last gen. If you think wii u is next gen that's fine. I can respect if not agree with your opinion.
Many developers don't think it is next gen and that matters to the consumers. From it's poor sales I am guessing that the majority of consumers don't think it's next-gen either... or maybe that it's not worth getting.
As for choices, yes, I believe it is that simple. You yourself admit to it. You want to play Zelda. Mario etc., Wii u is for you.
If you want all the third party blockbusters, wii u is not for you. If you want both Mario and third party big hitters like GTA then you need two consoles. It really is that simple.
