People seem to be missing the point here. The fact is, this is what your average citizen sees and considers the gaming world to be. The analysts side of things is pretty cool, but there's a lot of inaccuracies.
But of course, if you aren't into gaming that much, then how would you know otherwise? The BBC website probably gets more hits per day than most gaming sites put together (I believe it's over 10 million or something insane like that). And this is the only thing they have on it.
