I think game market is shrinking, there are more casuals and sales of 3DS show that quality doesn't win battles these days since Vita is so much more superior handheld - it's laughable. But to no success.

You wrongly associate quality with higher specs.

3DS is powerful enough for a current gaming handheld, an attractive mass market price,  and has great games every month. Thats superiority.

That's not wrong.Higher specs is quality.Yes,there are not enough games but why? For the love of god,Sony can't develop or publish every single game for it,where are other companies, why don't they develop for it? You will say, well because there are only 4 mil Vitas out there. But when you start, you always start from scratch, same will be for PS4 and 720.

So do you feel the same about the wii u and it's third party situation? Or is that suddenly different since its Nintendo? As far as specs go did they really need to put that much in there? I mean come on all they needed to do was double the ram that 3ds has and use the same chipset. then pump the system out for under 200$ I don't understand why we need these 10 yr cycles. Just release upgraded systems at 150$ with BC every 3-4 years. That way during transition phases games in development will still sell on both new and old systems, thus allowing developers to maximize profits with minimum risk, and at the same time begin to transition to upgraded hardware. I only speak for myself here, but I wouldn't mind a new 3ds upgrade with a die shrink(for faster clock speeds), an extra core or 2, and double the ram. Continue that process every 4 yeas at a cheap entry with full BC the same for vita. I feel the same for home consoles. 2015 give me a 6 core (die shrink faster clock speeds), 4-8 gb ram and a second gpu in my wii u 2, and sell it for 250$.  Sorry for my extended paragraph my pain meds have me sky high ;)
