When something gets announed expect it to be on every game website, social wbesites, youtube, etc. Of course people will be excited. im excited , youre excited, etc. But everything big and new will get a ton of hype like this. Wii U was announced well over a year before that, and it was underwhelming as hell. The only exciting part was everyone trying to figure out if it was just a controller or if there was a box. I felt like I was watching them unveil the Vitality Sensor again, it was so incredibly vague.
We really knew all there was to know about the system except for price and launch date before that September conference.
