My #13 is 8 1/2, a semi-autobiographical movie by Italian director Federico Fellini. The title 8 1/2 refers to the number of movies Fellini had made. The movie, which focuses around the life of a troubled film director, is a very difficult and cerebral experience. Fellini weaves flashbacks and dreams into the narrative, often confusing reality and fantasy for his audience. Never before (and nevers since) has a movie so cleverly mixed together life and art in a movie.
