I think prof was at some healthy Mcdonalds or a Mcdonalds that fits that specific area's culture because the one I was at had all that great protein, from beef to bacon. Some fast food chains will make subtle differences like that based on location. For example I know there are some KFC restaurants in London that cater to the muslim population (no pork, halal meats, etc).

I'm not familiar with what exactly happened in that merger but, only recently heard of it, but I don't even know if there are still chains called Checkers in the U.S. If you google checkers you always get Rally's. The one I'm talking about overseas is still called Checkers. I would have to do more research on the merger.

I did a search on the company. Apparently, the company still has a Checkers in Michigan (ironically, it USED to be a Rally's)

As for the McDonalds, that's a pretty interesting take. It might be up to the franchisor on what they decide to put on the menu. I'm guessing you'd find, for example, no McDonalds in India daring to sell beef burgers....
