CPU Overclock fail, need advice

Why do you need to overclock, an i7 at 2.67 isn't a bad CPU, do you have DDR3 Ram, what's your graphics card? Did you try to overclock the GPU as well?
I run into problems if I overclock both the CPU & GPU.
