All you apps will be free viewing so you can still have an entertainment hub. Microsoft makes to much money doing it. Sony would be stupid not to go this route. |
They're not going to do that. I would bet on it.
Even if they did though, Playstation Plus is such a great value and I would gladly pay for it to play online.(If I wasn't already)

It isn't like it is helping Sony. They are neck n neck is sales. So it isn't like Sony is ahead by 5 million consoles due to free online gaming. Microsoft makes a bazzilion dollars from Gold members. Why wouldn't Sony want that?
|
Because free online was a big selling point for PS3 and it could be the difference between someone picking up a PS4 or an XBox 720.

Both companies have their market now. There is to many things like friends, achievments/trophies, and games that people are to invested in to fully switch. Why would people switch if they both cost money? Your friends and everything are on a certain system and people will stay on that system regardless.
|
Only hardcore gamers are invested. The average 360 gamer has no problem switching to PS3 and from PS3 to 360. I cringe every time someone claims this.
|
The Hardcore gaming is the one who switches because they want the most bang for their buck. That is who we are on here. The ones who will "switch" consoles if there are no used games and so on.
The average gammer is the guy who buys a 360 or PS3 to play Call of Duty with their friends and use Netflix and will continue to buy the same consoles as their friends. You can actually put a lot of hardcore gamers into that as well.
People online thinks there is some WAR going on for the casuals. That is not the case. They want to play with their friends and watch movies.
