The US has more fast food chains than you can shake a stick at, unsurprisingly. Chik-fil-a is heavenly. We have one in North Carolina named Smithfields which sells pulled pork (we called it BBQ pork) and fried chicken, really good stuff. Pizza restaurants and Asian restaurants have exploded, they're all over the place. When it comes to straight fastfoot burgers, though, I probably like Wendy's the best, but I don't know if that's anywhere else in the world.
The coastal city I live near once led the US in restaurants per capita, since it's a tourist place, so we have a ton.
Edit: Oh, yeah, I forgot a difference I was going to point out. A lot of fast foot chains around here will have a 'Carolina Classic' sandwich of some kind as a regional offering. That's because BBQ sauce in much of the Carolinas is mustard/vinegar based instead being made from ketchup or molassas. It's tangy and spicey, usually, with a golden brown color.
