The OP isn't worthless it makes a lot of sense. How many consoles can you recollect that had this much press before the announcement? Microsoft is going to have some huge buzz with the illumiroom with the casual media.

Most I can think of is business channels and articles in the newspaper where business analyists talk about different companies. They get around to mentioning Sony with their recent quarterly postings and casually mention how there is a PS event on Feb 20 with a "rumored PS4 announcement".
I dunno, sorry if the only mass media advertisments are just casual mentions. I wouldnt call gaming sites and the overhyping of its PS fan commentators "mass awareness"
