No way is the Vita going to get close to the 3DS. 3DS is regularly outselling the Vita over 5:1 with many, many heavy-hitters still to come this year. In Japan (the only area where the price cut is confirmed) it's not unusual for it to be more like 10:1, indeed this week it was 17:1, roughly.
Even if they were to cut the price to $99, it still wouldn't outsell the 3DS.
