It used to be that signatures weren't supposed to extend past your avatar/info if you posted one line of text. However this was never really enforced, and they have added badges, points, currently playing, obscenely long avatars, etc which kind of makes that stipulation pointless. The forum is really a mess to look at when not logged in.
