Sony usually doesn't post numbers, regardless of how well the PS3 has done, so we can't tell anything from this. However, Nintendo usually always puts out a PR statement, even if sometimes they have to add some spin to it. The fact that there is nothing from them says a lot. Using MS release we can calculate Wii and PS3's numbers, though. MS was at 44% of current gen HW with 281K. This leaves ~358K for the Wii and PS3. I can't see the Wii being over 120K, which is still up ~20% YOY, so that leaves 238K for the PS3.
Now, some people think MS added the Wii U into those numbers, but I highly doubt it for two reasons. First, MS stated specifically "current gen." They could have just said all home consoles, as Wii U is the only next gen console out at the moment. And secondly, if they had included the Wii U in the current gen equation, this would have been a cheap shot. This is an official press release, not some random statement from an exec or an ad for the NeXbox. They wouldn't have used a press release to take a cheap shot at the competition, as it would look unprofessional.
