Really good article. I can't see sales increasing much for the Wii U over the next few months, so it should continue to set negative records. It's going to be like a ship adrift for awhile yet.
That software attach rate is terrible, too. Lower than 2 games per unit sold is not good at all, especially with Christmas having just ended. I don't see it jumping with any soon to be released titles, either.
I kind of think Nintendo should just let it float along until next Christmas, then release a bunch of big games and make a huge advertising push along with some major incentives. They've GOT to build that installed base going into next gen competition with Sony and Microsoft.
E3 is going to be absolutely pivotal in terms of generating positive buzz.
Also--"For the record, its sales today are well below the Wii U's 11,000 systems per week, but the PS2 did not get that low until January 2010, in the first few months of the system's tenth year on the market." Wow.
