Casuals aren't on board, no Zelda for some frontloaded sales, lack of games releasing in January, February.

Also too expensive. 

Although I agree with all those points, they should not bring the sales below vita. What I been thinking is brand power, PS brand is still moderate but the PSP/PSV brand died and thus vita does terrible. DS brand was still strong in US, so the 3DS does moderate and then price cut makes it great. PS brand at launch of PS3 was very high, but the large price, lack of games, and 360 brand was keeping the sales from taking off thus leading to moderate sales. Now the Wii brand is dead and with all that you said combined makes it into terrible sales. So now I think the PS4 and nextbox should launch while sales of their predecessors are still strong, not when they die off.

 

Just my thoughts on brand power.
