Who knows. Nintendo seems to enjoy re-releasing big games. Its not much of an investment likely to retool it to be on 3DS and then add the 3D as a new feature and bang... new $40 game.
However... in DKCR the 3D effect is just that... an effect. In SMG it would actually complicate the natural 3D platforming in the game and likely not allow a good user experience.
