They did that with the Gamecube too. It isn't enough for it to be "first party". The games have to be good and sell systems.


First party games are what stopped GC from being a complete failure.

As it stands now, Nintendo made good profit despite the low hardware sales and a good number of the first party games sold well on the measly 21 mil userbase with games like SSBM, Mario Kart, M Sunshine, LOZ:WW and LM selling more than 3 million.

I have no doubt Wii U will do better than GC, so no worries for Nintendo as far as I'm concerned. They're probably the only one of the three who can sustain themselves without third parties

I don't think this guy is right though, Sony and MS would have to be dumb to not realise if the industry is on the edge or something. Iwata has already shown that Nintendo sees some of the problems facing us in the future.
