Nintendo doesn't have a DD infrastructure in place to benefit from the "digital revolution." Stuff gets locked to your console instead of your account then there's the fact that they're one generation behind in distribution model(retail emphasis). Sony/MS already do Day 1 digital release for some games and that will be standard comes next gen.

Also, core Nitnendo users aren't conditioned to make digital purchases as much as Microsoft users are.

Okay for the first part.

@bold. Could you explain this part, I'm not sure what you mean.

I mean Xbox/PS3 owners have been exposed to digital distribution for the past 6 years or so. Naturally, they've become more "accepting" of buying digital goods.

You do know that nintendo started VC back in 2006 right.. ?

And content are not locked to the consol but to the person who owns it.. meaning if the wii u break down (yes i know. that almost never happend) but.. then you could call nintendo and tranfer them to an other console... and i bet anything you will be able to tranfer them to next nintendo console to.. (or what ever nintendo comes up with)

Ont: One thing for sure.. Nintendo will earn more per consol than they did with wii.. much more.. and even if some wii u owners are kids (i think some kids have ps3 and 360 to.. but leave that) They are the most powerful consumer group.. (they dont have cards.. yes.. but they dont pay.. it's the parents job (or uncle or grandmother or.., other people like to spoil kids)

And think of it... What happends when mom and dad a going out to a party or so.. they first bye theire kids some nice nintendo games.. :)
