Yeah let's compare email accounts to XBL. Makes perfect sense. Naturally they should use the same basis for active accounts because they are exactly the same thing. Well-spotted good chap. 

Yes ofcourse.  Many use their hotmail accounts for Xbox live. I always get an mail if I add points to XBLA.
