21. City of lost children, 1995, Marc Caro, Jean-Pierre Jeunet
A visually stunning movie with a great story and clever plot devices. An orphan named Miette decides to help strongman One to look for his little brother Denree. A mad scientist called Crank has young children kidnapped to capture their dreams as he has lost the ability to dream himself. He is one of 6 clones created by their 'uncle' that now lives as a brain in an aquarium tank. That only scratches the surface of all the wonderfully weird characters inhabiting this movie.
A great fantasy movie that keeps on giving with each repeat viewing. And if you can call Die Hard a christmas movie, then city of lost children qualifies too. Best rendition of petit papa noel :)
