Pairing works best for mated pairs, future husband and wife pairs, though it also works well for family relations (parents and kids). The game was hard but good on Normal Difficulty... it is crazy hard beyond that. Even with maxed characters the last battle was tough in normal mode.
Not an easy game to finish, (purchased Wednesday, finished it Friday on normal) but I really enjoyed it. It is only the second one I have played, the first one was the 3ds ambassador one.
I loved the anime sequences, really top notch production.
