If New Super Mario Bros. U wouldn't have come out for the WiiU, I probably would have waited until this year to purchase one. On the other hand, showing off a beautiful new game can lead to people wanting the game. Look at Uncharted. After word of mouth of how beautiful the game was, it continued to sell until the series became the beast that it is today. Then again, you have cases where the new IP is kinda bad, and leads to negative publicity (looking at games like Lair and Haze that turned out to be more harmful for the PS3 than good). I honestly feel that if a system launches with the right combination of the two, then it would have a successful launch. Although I can honestly say that relying on a game that is released on both current and next gen consoles is probably a bad idea because people are going to go with the console they already have instead of trying to upgrade. I don't only speak of the WiiU but also some games that were on the 360 & PS2 and what I assume will happen when God Eater 2 releases on the Vita and PSP. |
completely agree. Don't klnow if i could have said it better myself.
