No it wasnt. It was a huge step back for the series. It went from mainstream franchise to a niche for nolife freaks that like to spent 500 hours on grinding and pay for that every month.

You realize mmo's have subsciption fee's right? Those no life freaks (All 2 million plus of them) made ff11 the most profitable final fantasy game of all time.
