Interesting on the "bad" parts. Why not just plug it in? It wont do anything if you dont need it, and its there for when you need to navigate the media/marketplace content. PC has had mandatory game installations for years and years. And since when has controllers worked on the next generation, aside from Nintendo? I doubt Sony will allow PS3 controllers to work on the PS4.....since thats a ton of missed revenue. |

PS1 controllers were interchangable on the PS2. I remember using non-dual shock controllers to play Tekken Tag when the PS2 first came out. Even PS2 controllers can be used on PS3 if you purchase the right adapter. In both cases, their is a benefit to using the new controller so they didn't really miss out on extra revenue.

That kinda defeats the purpose of a console, does it not? I love playing on PC and Steam has made it fairly convenient now, but consoles were always about being plug n' play. Easy to setup and quick to get into a game. Mandatory installations, whilst beneficial for speed, is also taking some of the more annoying parts of PC gaming and putting them into consoles.
