I may have said this earlier in the thread, can't really remember, but I don't think next gen is going to be decided by the casual crowd.  So any gimmick, whether it be from Sony, MS or Nintendo (theirs is already not paying off) is not really going to push HW sales much.  It's going to come down to games.  Personally, I'm betting on Sony, seeing how they didn't desert the core when their motion controller was released.  But, we shall see.

I think games and price of the console are of the utmost important. Playstation has a strong following, so as long as PS4 is reasoanbly priced it should be able to out perform the 720. But PS4 won't trounce the competition like PS1 and PS2 did. Those days are over.

It wasn't gimmicks that made the 360 a success. It was great games and price. The Kinect just gave it a boost. The next Kinect will also pull in the casual audience. Sony just doesn't have anything that casuals care about right now.

MS has noteworthy exclusives and new IPs coming. MS will probably keep some 3rd party exclusives like Gears and Alan Wake as well, we'll have to wait and see.
