I would evaluate between Nintendo and MS. I'd most likely turn back to nintendo before I went back to MS. Nintendos obsession with trying to inovate controls is obnoxious. I loved the N64, SNES, NES, ps1, ps3 controllers and I hated the Wii mote and I really have no interest in the gaming pad though I have no experience with it. However, MS gains no respect from me with their games and charging of xbox Live. I play online with my ps3 once in a great while and is not worth paying for a subscribtion. Their RRoD and orginal xbox made sure that I go back to Sony this gen.
