It's a troublesome situation. They're not going to delay PS3/360 games for a Wii U version and late Wii U ports don't sell. Likewise, the Wii U hasn't proven that third-party exclusives are worthwhile.

The only real solution is for Nintendo to pull up the installed base for the Wii U with their own software. Until that happens, publishers and developers are going to largely stay away.

In the future, I think Nintendo is going to have to alter their strategy to front load their launch window with Nintendo games in order to make a more inviting space for third-party games later.
