Personally the Wii U has what i felt the best looking launch EVER. Only problem was that most of the great games were already released on other consoles or released same time. But tell me what console could match the likes of these games for launch titles. 1. Assassin's Creed 3 2. Batman Arkham City 3. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 4. Darksiders 2 5. Disney Epic Mickey 2 (heard it sucked though, liked the first one) 6. Mass Effect 3 7. New Super Mario Bros U 8. Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge 9. Nintendo Land (don't dismiss this, this like Wii Sports is amazing) 10. ZombiU 11. Obviously sports games as well such as Madden, Fifa, NBA2k, ect. Nothing special, all consoles get sports games. Maybe another game or two could be added. But I think we can all agree taht all those game above are amazing games, sans Mickey 2 which I heard is a dissapointment compared ot first game. Show me ANY other systems launch titles that even compare to this system. There was a topic not too long ago showing systems luanch titles. I looked at them all, most systems had at best 2 games that were even decent. Most just one as you said Resistance for PS3. I dont' count sports games, they are guaranteed games. Now again as I said most of those are available on other systems at same time or months before. So one might already have those games or played them. But in 20 years when some punk teenager is looking at luanch systems like on a website such as this. They will undoubtablly go "holy shit Wii U had an amazing line up" Obviously cause they would not be wise to the fact that most were late ports, ect. |
Fortunately, MS and Sony did not come late to the gen and have all the heavy lifting done for them. I'm sure they could have released their console now and launched with over 200 games that have already been out on the other platform for 7 years and charged full price for what would now be $5-10 games, but would anyone say it's the best line up in the history of history? No.
The Wii U lineup is weak. It just doesn't make sense to spend $300+ on a console for games that are already on other platforms that most people, who would be buying those games, already own.
