It's almost already done for Nintendo, that's the good side of the medal. Capcom, Square Enix are all behind the 3DS. When you got Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest and Pokemon, nothing can stop you in Japan. I was talking rather on the lack of support on Wii U and in the West.

Major Japanese home console franchises on Wii U could alleviate some od the problem. Like Final Fantasy or Metal Gear.
