This is tough. So many excellent films to choose from.

1 - Whisper of the Heart. It just makes me happy. I love the innocence of it and yet it has the bite of reality. It doesn't try to force a good ending, it just gives you the right ending.

2 - My Neighbor Totoro. Probably sentimental reasons more than anything but some parts of Totoro still make me grin like a little kid. Probably the most magical movie I've ever seen. You can't help see it all from a child's eyes, which is incredible for a film. I could probably watch the bus stop sequence everyday and not get tired of it. I'm not into anime merchandise but I do have a Totoro wall-scroll above my bed that I will probably never take down.

3 - Howl's Moving Castle. More of a whirlwind that the other two, it's an extremely entertaining experience. I want to watch it again, actually.

Special mention to Grave of the Fireflies. While not as enjoyable as some of the others, it impacted me deeply and is a film that everyone needs to watch. I haven't seen The Borrower Arrietty yet, but I look forward to anything from Ghibli.
