They also, obviously, thought about what they were doing with it. (Project Cafe was announced in early 2011, that was the Wii U.) i think people are taking me to literally when i said slap a touch screen to a controller, maybe i should edit that lol. and let me put it this way, Wii blew everyone away from the start with Wii sports. lets be honest WiiU didnt, it feels like they are still trying to figure out how to make interesting idea's with the gamepad and thats what im trying to say, they didnt come up with a new compelling idea like the WiiMote so they went with an old existing one (like another user pointed out) and try to make the best out of it
