Nintendo made the WiiU gamepad because they didnt have a better idea - opinion

I would like to point out that most companies go with the ideas they come up with that they think are the best. I think you are right that if Nintendo had had an even better idea, they would have gone with that. As it stands however, we are left with the excellent idea that is the gamepad.
