Ubisoft is the third party that cancelled their Assassin's Creed game for the 3DS. Of course I would expect them to withdraw/delay support for the Wii U.

Did you or anyone else have a reason to think that Ubisoft wouldn't do something like this?

I didn´t know about that..anyway, my impression was that Ubisoft was the only Western 3rd party that truly seemed to support Nintendo systems, so I´m not surprised about the title going multiplat, in fact I always expected it to, but I am surprised about such a sudden 7 month delay when the title was so close to its intended release.
