you are ignoring the power of games as a hobby/entertainment.

wii U had the 8 and 32 GBs SKUs and the 32 sold out and the 8 gathering dust on shelfs... gamers take gaming seriously. so initial price is more of a detail... Casuals on the other hand, price and easy of use is key, and sony can go after these latter down the road.

i say, if sony do 450 for lower SKU and 500 for a better SKU, it would sell the 500 at higher rate...

if specs are right... its about 4X more powerful and 450 is a bad price? for just 100 more than the best selling wii U SKU people can have more for less money. not bad in my book.
