I'm not sure how to respond to this. On one hand, this could very well be the work of a troll. It IS edge magazine, after all, and they could just be going for "how many fanboys can we rile up? with assertions of always on DRM, focus on Kinect, and blocked used game sales". could be a satire!
but on the flipside, after reading that article on how PS+ is embarrassing Xbox Live, being reminded that Microsoft isn't above putting features behind a wall that other consoles offer free of charge, I wouldn't be surprised if this was true at all.
Either way, my mentality stays: If either console has "always on DRM" or in any way blocks used game sales (blocks, not the online passes deal we have now, which is still BS but manageable), No console for me. I am eagerly looking forward to next gen, and have already started putting pennies away for the nextbox and PS4, but if either of them pulls a fast one in the form of intrusive, obstructing DRM, I can't be bothered to support them. I love my hobby, but there are literally thousands of games I could go back and play before I need to get a new system. Not to mention I could sustain myself on my backlog for years.
And there's Steam. I love you, Valve!
