Aww, stupid full day in college. Seems I've missed all the fun in this thread like N-Magic calling PSABR selling 13k "horrible" (which of course it is) but noting that Wii-U selling 12k is a "nice hold" (it really, really isn't).
So I'll get the obvious out of the way first - nice from 3DS as always, even nicer from Animal Crossing and Fantasy Life. The console has really benefited from having these two recently, there is a LOT of demand for them.
Onto the bad: Horrible drop for Monster Monpiece. Horrible FW for PSABR on both consoles and Ken's Rage 2 on Wii-U (although, not much could've been expected from either of these games). Wii-U now only has Need for Speed: Most Wanted (probably won't chart) and Tank Tank Tank (no idea) over the next two months. At least it'll be an interesting time to examine what the absolute bottom level of sales for the console is going to be.
For the slightly better: Demon Gaze held better than I expected in all honesty. And if those figures are true (35k LTD) then that means the game has sold more than 15k copies digital (Experience Inc. reported more than 50k sales for the game), which puts it well above the 10-20% digital sales that was previously reported for Vita titles (think it was regarding Hatsune Miku). Though, I believe there's shortages with it, so that's probably why.
It's going to be a rough month for Vita. There's small releases here and there to tide the dedicated over (Romance of Three Kingdoms; Silent Hill etc.) but there's nothing until the 28th of Feb (Phantasy Star/Senran Kagura). I was hoping that week would provide a Persona/Miku style boost to hardware sales (i.e. 30k plus, a victory only in Vita terms) but I don't even think that will happen with these current sales. If there were a price cut announced on the 20th taking effect on the 28th, however... (can only hope).
Ah well. At least we'll have a nice exciting chart next week, and then another one at the beginning of March :)
