Nobody with only Wiis played the first and it's unlikely that MS and Sony fans who did play it will buy a Wii U for the sequel. So Nintendo fans will never get to play the first and Bayonetta fans will be pissed at Nintendo. It doesn't seem worth it for such a niche game. |
A lot of Nintendo fans own another console; I'm one of them. And Nintendo sees it as "worth it" because they want a "hardcore" exclusive to harden their image.

I don't know. Nintendo payed a lot to get Resident Evil exclusives for the same mature gamer reasons. The GCN got a remake of RE, a prequel, some ports, and RE4. There were all great, but here we are two generations later and Nintendo still is known as the family machine.

I think Nintendo will always be known as "the family machine", but a game like Bayonetta 2 does say to the "hardcore" that "we care about you too."
