Game prices spike and fall all the time. I've seen games go from $250 to $65 in less than a week.

Why do these games do this? Holidays?

Lots of supply/demand issues and when dealing with small quantities, it's very easy to flood or dry up a market. Sales, promotions, reprints, online re-release, remakes, etc. all play into this as well.
