The official ones are prettier than the fan-art ones.
Personally I have the official Zelda 3DS (the black one), but I keep it sealed in the box. It was a gift, and I had already bought myself the standard blue 3DS. Sadly I didn't win the Toad themed special edition in the Club Nintendo Shop (those three, the Mario, Peach and Toad ones were given away to Club Nintendo members).
I like the Fire Emblem and Kingdom Hearts ones too, as well as the gold unofficial Zelda one with 8-bit Link on it.
The Metal Gear and Zelda Majora's Mask ones are hideous though. The 'tribal' Mask figure is completely ridiculous and not even accurate, the system would've been way better without it, or with the (accurate) mask figure that's in the corners in the middle too.
If I had to choose one, I'd pick on of the Mario XL ones, as I don't have a 3DS XL and the Mario ones, especially the red one with Mario items on it.
